Genshin Impact introduces players to the new magical world of Teyvat. Teyvat is broadly divided into seven different regions. While exploring these regions, players can come across different currencies and barter systems, which can overwhelm new players. Here is a brief description of some of the most used Genshin Impact currencies.
Mora

This is the most common currency in Genshin Impact. People of Teyvat use this currency in their daily lives. Players can obtain Mora by completing tasks, defeating opponents, or opening treasure chests. Mora has a wide range of usage: you can use it to upgrade characters, their talents, weapons, craft some material, or buy items from different vendors.
Players often run out of their mora at higher levels as the cost of upgrading talents and character becomes exponentially high. For example, to upgrade a skill from level 6 to level 7, the amount of mora required is 120k. So we advise not to waste mora too much.
Primogems

These are the premium currency in Genshin Impact. Players can buy Intertwined Fate and Acquaint Fate with primogems. Although it is a premium currency in Genshin impact, players can earn primogems without investing real-world money.
There are several ways to obtain primogems, such as opening treasure chests, completing quests, or defeating bosses. Unlocking new teleportation waypoints and statues of seven also rewards players with primogems. Players can buy Intertwined Fate and Acquaint Fate with primogems from Paimon’s shop.
Genesis Crystals

This is yet another type of premium currency in Genshin Impact. Unlike primogems, you can only obtain Genesis crystals by purchasing them with real-world money. You can convert them to primogems in a 1:1 ratio. With Genesis crystals, players can buy bundles and dress skins in the game shop.
Elemental Sigils

These are currencies that are unique to each nation of Teyvat. Players can use in Souvenirs shops and as an offering to the Sacred Sakura tree in Inazuma. Players can obtain Elemental sigils by upgrading statues of seven or opening treasure chests; sometimes, you can find them in boxes floating in the water or under rock outcrops.
With that, we come to an end to the Genshin Impact currencies and their uses! We hope you found this article helpful!
