So, what is the Elden Ring 2 release date? Now that Elden Ring has been available for 5 months, the gaming industry is starting to wonder what comes after this. So is the development team working on a sequel to Elden Ring, as they did with Dark Souls series? This begs the question: would this be a prequel, a sequel, or a different story? There are several unanswered questions. Keep reading for the latest details on when Elden Ring 2 will be available.
Elden Ring 2 Release Date

We do not have any information on the launch date of the next game in the Elden Ring series. There is currently no indication that there will be a sequel to The Elden Ring. However, given that FromSoftware is well-known for developing and publishing sequels to the games they have previously developed, we are certain that the developers will produce Elden Ring 2 within the next few years.
The developers of Elden Ring have been silent about the game’s future and the plans they have for it. Hence, it is currently fairly challenging to estimate when the new game will be available. For example, let’s examine the pattern of release dates followed by FromSoftware. We can forecast that Elden Ring 2 will release between 2024 and 2025. Please remember that this is only speculation and not any verified update.
It is currently unclear what would happen to Elden Ring if FromSoftware released it after the DLC content. There is precedent for both continuing the story of popular games with sequels and leaving some unfinished as stand-alone adventures since the developer has done both in the past.
Don’t Expect an Elden Ring Sequel too Soon
Yes, it looks as if everyone enjoys “Elden Ring.” There is probably nothing that more people would want to do than return to the Lands Between soon in pursuit of fresh adventures in this exquisitely portrayed universe. However, despite widespread belief to the contrary, it seems that “Elden Ring” will not be followed by another installment anytime soon.

Elden Ring 2 Rumors

Here are some rumors about Elden Ring 2:
Elden Ring is a New IP
The video game “Elden Ring” has already sold more than 12 million copies throughout the globe. To mark this milestone, the developer FromSoftware and the game’s publisher, Bandai Namco, have issued a press statement expressing their thanks for the game’s success.
FromSoftware CEO and game designer Hidetaka Miyazaki said that it was “astonishing to see precisely how many people have been playing ‘Elden Ring.’ On behalf of the whole development team, I’d like to offer our most sincere gratitude to all of you.”
It is certainly worth noting that people expressed kind words towards the development team that poured their hearts into the product. However, what is making fans excited for the future of the “Elden Ring” intellectual property is what Bandai Namco President and CEO Yasuo Miyakawa had to say about it.
According to Miyakawa, “We put much work into constructing ‘Elden Ring’ so that we could meet and surpass the expectations of our followers all around the globe. Similarly, we will continue our efforts in spreading the brand beyond the scope of the game itself and into the everyday lives of all people.”
These words give the impression that “Elden Ring” is a new intellectual property (IP) that the firm intends to develop further. Hence, this news may indicate that the developers will release other games in the future. However, it seems as if the corporation is only beginning to tell the narrative of the Lands Between.
Many fans of the series share the opinion that “Elden Ring” is not even close to being finished. A survey conducted on Reddit found that around 41% of the 142 participants believe that a sequel to “Elden Ring” is probable.
Brandon Sanderson Collaboration
Brandon Sanderson, the author of the novels in the Mistborn series, has communicated his desire to collaborate with Bandai Namco and From Software on the development of a “Souls-like game.” Sanderson was kidding when he stated this. However, there were rumors that Sanderson would have been working on Elden Ring if it hadn’t been because the developers contacted George R.R. Martin instead.
However, since then, the author has presented a concept to the publishers, who have given their responses. In a recent broadcast, people saw Sanderson opening a gift that had been delivered to him by Bandai Namco. He stated:
“The gift indicates that the developers are interested in doing something together. I am the same way, in all honesty. This is the way I play the game. I do have a proposal for them floating around in the back of my mind, so I may have to email them my pitch and see what they think of it.”
Although a collaboration between Bandai Namco, FromSoftware, and Sanderson seems possible, we doubt it will be on Elden Ring 2. That’s because George R.R. Martin and Hideki Miyazaki were the ones who laid the creative framework for the Elden Ring intellectual property.
As a result, the possibility of another author contributing their ideas to an already established world is quite small. Instead, we believe Sanderson will want his concepts to be adapted into a new intellectual property (IP). And the new Intellectual property will be created by FromSoftware and released by Bandai Namco. However, we’ll have to sit tight and watch the clock to see whether this ever becomes a thing.
What Would Elden Ring 2 Look Like?

We strongly suspect Elden Ring 2 will adhere to the same format as its predecessors in the Souls series. In the past, events have taken place several centuries after the original story. However, they have avoided establishing a single conclusion as the “official” version of the story.
Dark Souls 2 and 3 incorporated every ending from their forerunners by revealing that the world was stuck in an endless cycle of ‘linking the fire’ and ‘letting the fire fade.’ The developers accomplished this by revealing that some forces engulfed the world in a battle between them.
If a player chose to let the fire go out and become the Dark Lord, their world would ultimately fall victim to the Undead Curse. Due to this, there would always be another player who would come along and rekindle the flame, so extending the Age of Fire.
However, after some time, the fire would begin to die out again, needing another person or player to connect it or accept the darkness.
Dark Souls 2 and 3 showed us a world becoming increasingly uneasy of the cycle as characters searched for a way out of it. Each game demonstrated the consequences of allowing the flame and rekindling it afterward.
FromSoftware may accomplish something like this via Elden Ring 2 and improve the open world experience.
Final Words
Since its first release, Elden Ring has amassed an astounding twelve million sales, establishing it as the most successful launch of any Souls game ever. However, due to the changes made to the game’s multiplayer mode and other core elements, we expect it to have more life than its predecessors. This mode will provide Elden Ring with a vibrant community that will continue playing for many years.
With this, fans expect Elden Ring 2, however, there’s no release date, and development is still in the air. Souls games are Bandai Namco Entertainment and FromSoftware’s strength.
