The first thing to see is:

Resolution.


Resolution is the number of pixels that can be displayed on a screen at the same time. This is usually one of the points that most people generally handle well by affinity to other electronic devices. The easiest would be to simply choose the model with higher resolution and screen size.​​

These stipulate that to enjoy Full HD resolution, for example, the minimum distance between the monitor and the viewer should be twice the width of the monitor.

If we talk about monitors with UHD resolution, which would be 3,840 x 2,160 pixels, 4K or 8K, the previous distance is reduced by half.


Display Size.


The two most common references for gaming monitors are 24 or 27 inches. For several reasons, the most recommended option is the 24-inch. Not only are cheaper, they are also perfect for narrower spaces. They are also large enough to occupy your entire viewing angle.

However, larger monitors also have their advantages. One of these is the resolution.

Most 24-inch monitors come with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 (1920 pixels wide by 1080 pixels high), which is the equivalent of full HD, the same resolution as many standard monitors.

Most 27-inch gaming monitors, on the other hand, offer a resolution of 2560 x 1440. This increase results in sharper images for those obsessed with graphic detail.


Refresh Rate.

This is one of the main points to keep in mind, especially if you are a First Person Shooter (FPS) player. The refresh rate indicates the number of times the image on your monitor is refreshed per second. This value is measured in hertz (Hz).

In the case of a gaming monitor for a player who wants to increase their professional level, the recommended values are 120 to 140 Hz. So the image of your gaming monitor is updated at least 120 times per second. In the case of other types of games, the refresh rate is not vital, but it is a factor to keep in mind. Another important note is that this difference, in the case of computers, is only visible if your computer and game of preference are able to run more than 60 frames per second.

Panels.

Panels can be confusing for someone who is not soaked with the technical specifications of a computer. In simple terms, when we talk about panels we mean the technology of the screen.
In the case of gaming monitors, there are three types of technologies to take into account: TN, VA, and IPS. Each of these has its pros and cons.

TN panels: are often found on inexpensive gaming monitors. Its strengths are in refresh rate and response times (how long it takes the screen to show an action performed with the mouse, for example). The problem is that they do not deliver good color quality at different angles and often suffer from fidelity to colors.


The VAs panels: are on the other side of the spectrum, they offer good contrast and vibrant colors, although they may fail in color fidelity. Another problem they may present is ghosting (the perception of shadows or grays chasing the moving objects).


In general, most users tend to lean toward


IPS screens: Its strengths are a good reproduction of color, good angles of vision and fidelity to color. Unfortunately, they do not have as good response time as VN panels and are more expensive.

Negative Customer Feedback.

Out of box color and gamma setting are not the best. However, after adjusting the monitor settings, the picture quality improves immensely.
